FORMER Liverpool defender Stephane Henchoz could be in the Blackburn Rovers reserve side to take on the Reds at The Halliwell Jones Stadium on Tuesday at 7pm.
Liverpool, who defeated Newcastle 2-1 in their last home game, take on Rovers in the Barclays Premier League (North) and will hope for a third successive crowd of above 3,000.
Swiss defender Henchoz, who was part of the Liverpool side that won the UEFA Cup in 2001 and played more than 100 games for the club between 1999 and 2005, is in his second spell with Blackburn but has rarely featured in the first team and has already played for the reserves on several occasions this season.
Blackburn, whose reserve team is managed by Glyn Hodges, have also included Irish international Stephen Reid, Dutch under 21s star Maceo Rigters and Swiss international Bruno Berner in their second string in recent weeks, while striker Jason Roberts is approaching a comeback from injury.
For the first time a Liverpool match at The Halliwell Jones does not take place on a Champions League week and, although on occasions in the past such matches have been used to give game time to first-team squad players, it is still unclear what sort of side Gary Ablett will send out for the Reds on Tuesday.
