Sadler scores four for Malpas as they celebrate opening day rout
RICHARD Sadler scored four times as Malpas made it a debut to forget for Division Two newcomers Cherry B rook.
He hit the net twice in each half as the hosts won 8-1, a double for Mike Gibbs plus further goals from Steve Watkins and Robert Martin completing the rout.
Poynton proved just too good for last year’s promotion rivals Rudheath Social in the match of the day, winning 3-1.
Barnton sent a message of intent to their rivals with a 4-2 success at relegated Golborne Sports , where co-manager Kevin Towey helped himself to a brace.
Billy Webb did likewise.
Sandbach United overturned a two-goals deficit to inflict an opening day defeat on first-timers Penlake , who had led through Alex Grisedale and Krys Tarnawski.
James Hutchin was on the mark twice for the hosts as they restored parity before the break, substitute James Reid nicking a winner for his team.
Daten led at Runcorn Town reserves , but that was as good as it got before Jason McShane, twice, Jordan Dwyer and Jonathon McDonald scored in the home team’s emphatic reply.
Congleton Vale were the only one of the newcomers to taste victory, Carl McCurrie’s double and a third goal from Damon Oakes putting them out of Moore United’s reach.
Matt McKay reduced the visitors’ arrears, only for James Daniel to restore Vale’s three-goals advantage before Andy John made it 4-2.
Tony Scott scored for newcomers Egerton to rescue a draw against Tarporley , who had scored first through Al Moore’s header.
