WARRINGTON Town’s academy side have won the Northern Premier League Football Academy Grand Final.
Bobbie McDonnell’s late winner allowed Yellows to come from behind to beat Matlock Town 3-2 in the final played at Leek Town FC.
Aron McGrath also scored twice for Martyn Irvine’s side as they lifted the trophy.
Matlock took an early lead when Josh Devereux’s free kick was bundled home, but McGrath equalised for a first time just after the break.
Just minutes later, however, Matlock were awarded a penalty and Devereux converted for his second of the game.
The game swung in Warrington’s favour in the later stages after McGrath plundered his second goal of the game.
A long free kick was nodded down into the path of McDonell, who smashed home the winning goal.
