FOUR Warrington Junior Football League cup finals produced 23 goals at the weekend.

Appleton AFC North bagged four of them as they edged past Matthiola in the under 12s Presidents Cup Final.

Ben Thorburn’s strike proved to be the difference between the sides in the fourth of the showdowns staged at Victoria Park Stadium.

Jack McBean twice added to Leyton Holden’s leveller, once in each half, to put Appleton 3-1 in front but Ellie Eves’ second goal kept things interesting. Curtis Linaker’s final goal for Matthiola proved to be not quite enough.

Will Adams pulled a goal back for Whittle Hall Athletico in the under 12s Alf Holt Trophy Final but Irlam Vale AFC came through thanks to Dylan Stanway’s two strikes, with all goals coming in the second half.

Rainford Rangers Real were never behind as they defeated Bold Rangers Spitfires 5-3 in the under 14s Alf Holt Trophy Final.

They were hauled back to 2-2 but Berni Couto’s four goals steered them home, with Callan Hayes also netting. Cearne Gilford and Matt McBride netted for Bold.

Parkdale Sidactwice came from behind before squeezing past Earlestown Athletic Celtic 3-2 in the under 14s Presidents Cup Final.

Jack Sutton hit the mark twice but Ed Fisher grabbed the winner. Ben Hamlett and Tom Prescott scored for Celtic.
