WARRINGTON Town manager Paul Carden has called upon the town’s sports fans to pack out Cantilever Park for their play-off semi-final tonight.

Yellows will finished third in the Evo-Stik Premier Division and will therefore have at least one more home game in their bid for promotion.

Town’s average home crowd this season is just 275, but a much larger gate is expected for tonight’s game against Grantham Town.

Carden says his players deserve to have a huge crowd roaring them on in their bid for promotion to the National League North

“The regulars and diehards are there every week and they are superb, but you just want a little bit more from others,” he said.

“It’s the people who have been before and for whatever reason haven’t come back.

“We just want that togetherness as a town to try and achieve something positive.

“We’ve been striving all season to do that, but it’s very rare that the attendance has fluctuated. The gates are obviously something of a concern.

“Come Tuesday, we need everybody who’s only going to be sat at home watching Coronation Street or Eastenders or whatever to come down and support us.

“The lads deserve it, and the town deserves it.

“We want to give this town something to shout about and we’ll be going all out to make it happen.”

Tickets cost £10 for adults, £5 concessions and £2 for under 16s. Fans can pay on the door.

Should Yellows win, the play-off final will be held on Saturday, May 5.
