THE Guardian Cup took centre stage on Saturday, but the run is over for two of Warrington’s teams.

Despite a goal from Kieren Woods, Eagle Junior were beaten 2-1 by Upton Athletic in the second round.

Winwick Athletic suffered a similar fate, crashing to a 4-1 loss at Westgarth United despite Reuben Robertson getting on the scoresheet.

League action was limited on a day riddled with postponements due to the wet weather, but Woolston Rovers Reserves did get their game on.

However, they slipped to a 3-0 home defeat to their Blackbrook counterparts.

In the Premier Division this weekend, neighbours Woolston Rovers and Grange meet as they both seek a victory to move further clear of the league’s lower reaches.

Mattihola and Winwick Athletic meet in another all-Warrington clash in Division Two.
