KNOCKOUT progress eluded a trio of Warrington’s Cheshire Football League clubs at the weekend.

Rylands, Warrington Town FC Reserves and Greenalls Padgate St Oswalds bowed out of county competitions.

Town pushed Egerton in the Cheshire County FA Amateur Cup second round before falling 3-2 in Knutsford.

Rhys Bowers and Jamie Davis were their scorers.

Warrington will be looking to reach the next stage of the JB Parker Premier Division Challenge Cup when they host Eagle Sports on Saturday, kick off 3pm.

Rylands were smashed 5-1 at East Villa in the Lancashire FA Saturday Challenge Cup second round, while Greenalls failed to progress virtue a 3-0 home loss to Waterloo Dock.

Greenalls, 16th in the Premier Division, face a tough test this weekend when they visit second-placed Whaley Bridge, while sixth-placed Rylands host mid-table Ashton Town.

Daten and Middlewich Sports could not be separated in the Division One top-of-the-table battle in Culcheth, with the clash ending 1-1.

Third-placed Daten will e in search of their sixth win of the year when they entertain 13th-placed Garswood on Saturday.

Moore United scored three times in the opening 19 minutes of their League Two affair at Blacon Youth Club but drew 5-5.

Substitute Matthew Bush got the goal that gave United a point, while Aron McGrath bulged the net twice. Jordan Rudge and Joshua Kavanagh also hit the mark.

Vulcan, currently six places below in 11th, will be their guests on Saturday.

Orford FC, third from bottom in League Two, were overhauled 3-0 at home by Buxton FC Reserves.

Odilani Koubemba, two, and Matthew Grice scored for Grappenhall Sports in their Guardian Cup clash with Penlake but they crashed out 6-3 at home to the Warrington and District League Division Two side.
