WARRINGTON Town have offered fans the chance to “pay what they want” for entry into Saturday’s home game.

Yellows welcome Whitby Town to Cantilever Park on Saturday and the game falls on the annual “Non League Day,” when no Premier League or Championship football is played and fans are urged to support their local non-league team.

Paul Carden’s side could go top of the Evo-Stik Premier Division with a victory and the club’s target is for an attendance of 500.

Town’s average home attendance this year is 256, with a season-high of 429 coming in the FA Cup second qualifying round tie against Hyde United on September 16.

However, chairman Toby Macormac hopes giving the fans the option of choosing their entry fee will boost that number.

“This Saturday sees the annual Non-League Day and, in keeping with the tradition of it, we’re offering a “pay what you want day,” he said.

“It would be great to see the people of Warrington down to the ground to get behind us, and to get a taste of proper non-league action.”

There is a minimum charge of £1 for the game, which kicks off at 3pm.
