HERE is our comprehensive round-up of the goings-on in the Cheshire League from the past few days:

Premier Division:

RYLANDS remain unbeaten in the Cheshire League Premier Division after coming from behind to beat neighbours Eagle Sports on Tuesday night.

Two goals in as many minutes just before the break saw them come from behind to break a run of three consecutive 1-1 draws.

After Ben McWilliams equalised by slotting home Przemek Staniszewski’s flick, Jonny Dawson scored what was eventually the winner with a 25-yard strike.

Darren Davies’ side had earlier missed a penalty as Aaron Williams saw his effort saved, but it proved immaterial.

“We probably only showed our best for a ten minute spell, but that proved enough to win the game,” Davies said.

“We showed good character to come back after going a goal down and then missing a penalty.

“To finish a tough August unbeaten is a great base to build on for the season and we look forward to seeing how far the run can stretch.”

Eagle had taken an early lead at Thornton Road when a cross from the left was converted by Alex Briscoe, but Rob Hope’s men slipped to back-to-back defeats.

The result came in the wake of a disastrous 7-0 home defeat to Denton Town on Saturday and they now sit eighth.

Rylands had drawn 1-1 with Wythenshawe Town on Saturday after Staniszewski’s opener was cancelled out late on and they move up to second, six points behind leaders Knutsford.

Blues take their unbeaten record to Crewe FC on Saturday, while Eagle will look to avoid a third straight loss when they welcome Poynton to Thornton Road.

Elsewhere on Saturday, Greenalls PSO drew 1-1 with Malpas as substitute George Farrelly grabbed their goal.

Greens remained bottom of the Premier Division table ahead of a game with neighbours Warrington Town Reserves last night, Wednesday.

They visit Denton Town on Saturday, while Yellows are not in action again until Wednesday when they travel to Congleton VR.

League One:

DATEN bounced back from their first defeat of the season by blowing away Golborne Sports in the first half.

Jack Challinor, twice, and Adam McLoughlin were on the scoresheet at Charnock Road as the Atoms led 3-0 at the break and that was how it stayed until the end.

On Saturday, Daten had slipped to a 2-1 home defeat to Deva Athletic, with Dean Jennings getting the hosts’ goal.

League Two:

It was a huge week for Grappenhall Sports as they won both their games, scoring 11 goals in the process.

Odi Koubemba’s brace and goals from Rick Ward, Adam Ashcroft and Dan Kimber helped them win 5-1 at Winstanley on Tuesday.

Koubemba and Kimber were also on the scoresheet in Saturday’s 6-1 home thumping of St Helens Town Reserves along with Luke James, Paul Hulmes, Alex Dunne and Derrick Okonji.

Moore United were also comfortable winners on Tuesday night as Aron McGrath and Jordan Rudge both scored twice in a 4-1 win over Sandbach United Reserves.

However, Orford could not make it a clean sweep as they were beaten 4-2 at Tarporley Victoria.
