WARRINGTON Town have missed out on the signing of full-back Josh Askew after the conclusion of his loan spell.

The 19-year-old was offered the chance to stay at Cantilever Park, but he signed for National League North side Salford City yesterday.

Askew joined Yellows on loan from Blackburn Rovers in January and was ever-present for Paul Carden’s side thereafter, putting in several impressive performances.

After his release from Rovers, Yellows said they were hopeful of persuading the left-back to sign a contract to stay with the club until his move to Moor Lane.
