RYLANDS and Eagle Sports could not be separated as they played out a 1-1 draw in the Cheshire League Premier Division on Saturday.

The two sides were meeting for the second time in quick succession at Gorsey Lane after Rylands’ victory over their neighbours in the Guardian Cup on February 25.

After Rylands stopper Conor Yarwood and Eagle counterpart Neil McDermott had both made superb saves early on, the hosts broke the deadlock when Kris Bell headed home Ryan Wan’s corner.

With both sides having chances after the break, it was Eagle who got the crucial second goal when Ged McAllister smashed home the rebound after Yarwood had saved from Adam Deakin.

Home stopper Yarwood made big saves late on to deny both Deakin and Alex Brisco, while Rylands substitute Przermek Staniszewski thundered a header against the post as the spoils were shared.

Elsewhere in the Premier Division, Greenalls PSO slipped further towards the relegation places with a 2-0 defeat to Garswood United.

In League One, Christian Lawlor scored twice as Daten picked up a 4-1 win over Egerton, with Dean Jennings and Neil McCormack also scoring for the Atoms.

Grappenhall Sports slipped back to the bottom of the table after their 3-0 defeat at AFC Macclesfield.

Moore United held a half-time lead at Ford Motors in League Two thanks to Joe Holt’s goal, but the high-flyers came back to win 2-1 while Orford were beaten 4-1 at home by Winstanley Warriors.
