WARRINGTON Town’s reserves reached the final of the JA Walton Challenge Cup after coming from behind to beat FC St Helens.

Lee Deakin’s opener established an interval lead for the visitors at Cantilever Park, but goals from Conor Speed and John Edge booked a final date with Cheadle Town reserves next month.

Elsewhere, the weather wreaked havoc with the Cheshire League schedule as many sides saw their games called off.

After a dramatic Guardian Cup victory over neighbours Eagle last time out, Rylands crashed back to earth in the Premier Division with a 4-0 home defeat to title-chasing Wythenshawe.

They face a tricky trip to Altrincham reserves on Saturday, while Eagle are due to host Denton to Thornton Road.

In League One, Grappenhall Sports could not follow up last week’s victory as they were beaten 3-1 at high-flying Pilkington.

James McCarthy got Grappers’ goal.

They host FC St Helens on Saturday, while Daten are also at home against Lostock Gralam.
