WARRINGTON Town play the latest game in their tough schedule of fixtures tomorrow, Saturday, when they welcome Halesowen Town to Cantilever Park.

It is the first of two games in three days for Paul Carden’s side and sits inside a run of four games in nine days as they seek to make up games lost to postponements.

YELLOWS TEAM NEWS:

TUESDAY night’s 3-1 Cheshire Senior Cup victory over Witton Albion gave several of Town’s squad some much-needed minutes on the field.

Defender Adam Carden, midfielder Sean Williams and striker Danny Hattersley all came through the game unscathed and will bolster Yellows’ squad for their return to league action.

Striker Ciaran Kilheeney had also been struggling with a knee injury but came off the bench to score Town’s third goal at Wincham Park.

Lewis Codling will also return to the squad from suspension, but Tranmere loanee Mitch Duggan is still out with a hamstring injury.

A LOOK AT THE OPPOSITION:

INCONSISTENCY seems to be blighting Saturday’s opponents Halesowen almost as much as Town.

The Yeltz currently sit 18th in the Evo-Stik Premier Division table, but are in no real danger of relegation with 11 points separating them from the drop zone.

In fact, victory at Cantilever Park will see them make strides towards the top half of the table.

Before Saturday’s win at struggling Skelmersdale, Halesowen had struggled away from home and were winless on their league travels since September.

ONES TO WATCH:

Warrington Town – Ruben Jerome: Paul Carden said the 18-year-old striker “has all the attributes you want in a striker” after he opened his account for Yellows at Witton.

His partnership with Danny Hattersley looked promising on Tuesday and netting for the first time in Town colours could see Jerome’s confidence soar.

Halesowen Town – Tristan Dunkley: After top scorer Kaiman Anderson returned to parent club Shrewsbury, Yeltz boss John Hill moved quickly to secure Dunkley on loan from Hednesford Town.

Three goals in eight appearances, including a brace in the recent victory over Mickleover Sports, have convinced Hill to extend Dunkley’s stay until the end of the season.

LAST MEETING:

Halesowen Town 1 Warrington Town 0.

Saturday, October 22, 2016:

UNDER the caretaker management of Steve Hayes and Andy McCann, Town slipped to a dour defeat in the Midlands.

Kaiman Anderson’s well-taken goal in the first half condemned them to defeat in what was to be Hayes and McCann’s final game in charge before Paul Carden took the reins.
