Witton Albion 1 Warrington Town 3

TOWN came from behind to secure their place in the last four of the Cheshire Senior Cup after becoming the first team to beat Witton Albion at home this season.

Jamie Sloane put the hosts, who play in the Evo-Stik First Division South, ahead but goals from Danny Hattersley and Ruben Jerome had Yellows in front at the break.

Substitute Ciaran Kilheeney sealed the win for Town, who will face Nantwich for a place in the final, midway through the second half at Wincham Park.

Reacting to the victory, Yellows boss Paul Carden reflected on a good night’s work.

“It was a good result and there were lots of things to be positive about,” he said.

“We were clinical with our chances and our strikers managed to get themselves on the scoresheet.

“There were a few lads out there who were coming back from injury and it was good for them to get some miles in their legs.

“Danny Hattersley, Sean Williams and Adam Carden all come through the game unscathed in that respect.”

Warrington Town: McMillan, Carden (Woods), Askew, Williams (Smith), McCarten, Gumbs, Vassallo, Smart, Hattersley (Kilheeney), Jerome, Harries. Subs not used: Monaghan, Robinson.
