MANAGER Darren Davies is as emphatic as the scoreline in his reaction to Rylands’ thumping win at the weekend.

Captain Kris Bell hit the net five times in a 10-0 hammering of Styal FC at Gorsey Lane.

“By some way, this was our best display of the season,” he said.

“For one reason or another we haven’t got it right at home so far, so I’m delighted to start the calendar year in such emphatic fashion.”

It was the way the blues went about their work, in their first outing since December 17, that pleased him most on a day when Michael Sullivan celebrated a birthday hat-trick.

“We moved the ball quickly and did the simple things superbly all game,” he said.

Focus now turns to Saturday’s Cheshire League Premier Division encounter at Linotype Cheadle.

“Another positive from the weekend saw the returns of Mike Southern and James Dykes to the team, which will be a massive boost for us,” he said.

“Hopefully we can take confidence from the game and kick on in what will be a tough contest at Linotype Cheadle.”

Rylands notched seven of their goals by half time, with fit-again James Daniels among them.

Southern got in on the act in his first game since August by completing the rout.

Rylands: Conor Yarwood, James Sinker, Tom Gibson, David France, James Dykes, Ryan Duffy, Ryan Wan, Ben Latham, Kris Bell, Michael Sullivan, James Daniels.

Meanwhile, in League One, Warrington Town reserves dropped points as they were held to a 1-1 draw by West Didsbury and Chorlton reserves at Cantilever Park, with Rhys Bowers scoring the hosts’ goal.

Daten were victorious as they had a Leon Goulden brace and a further strike from James Sigsworth to thank for a 3-1 win over Tarporley Victoria, while Grappenhall Sports secured a 1-1 draw at Middlewich Town thanks to Paul Hulmes’ goal.
