WHILE the majority of the country enjoys a few days off over the festive period, some of our teams don’t have the same luxury.

If anyone fancies some fresh air over the holidays, we’ve put together a preview of all the sport happening over the next few days up to the new year.

Christmas remains one of the busiest periods of the football calendar and most of Warrington’s teams are in action at some point.

Christmas Eve sees Cheshire League One sides Daten and Grappenhall Sports play home games as they entertain AFC Macclesfield and Lostock Gralam respectively, with both games kicking off at 1pm.

Warrington Town begin their festive schedule on Boxing Day as Paul Carden’s men travel to Ashton United, kick off 3pm.

Eagle Sports will look to play their first league game since November 5 when they host Poynton on Tuesday, kick off 1pm.

Town return to Cantilever Park on Thursday, December 29, to take on Spennymoor Town, kick off 7.45pm, while New Year’s Eve sees Eagle Sports host Styal in the Cheshire Premier Division, kick off 1pm.

Daten and Grappenhall Sports are also in action on the last day of 2016 as they contest a local ‘derby’ in Cheshire League One, kick off 1pm.

As December turns to January, Warrington Town are at home again when they take on Marine on Monday, January 2, kick off 3pm.
