WARRINGTON Town reserves suffered their first league defeat since the opening day of the season on Saturday, losing 2-1 at home to second-placed Billinge in Cheshire League One.

All looked rosey for Steve Hayes’ league leaders at half-time when they led through Conor Speed’s goal, but strikes from Daniel Hewitt and Ryan McCabe meant the visitors cut Town’s lead at the summit to six points.

Meanwhile, Grappenhall Sports’ suffered a heavy 7-0 home loss to Pilkington to stay bottom of League One and Daten exited the JA Walton Challenge Cup with a 4-1 reverse at FC St Helens.

League Two saw Orford pick up an impressive 2-1 win on the road at Unicorn Athletic, with Daniel Wilcock and Liam McLoughlin hitting the net.

Moore United were on the wrong end of a thrilling scoreline as they lost 4-3 at Maine Road reserves despite goals from Sean Bennett, Sam Chaddock and Joseph Holt.
