CHESHIRE League sides contesting Guardian Cup ties on Saturday progressed at the expense of Warrington and District League rivals.

Daten will face Vulcan in the quarter finals after a fine individual performance by Mark Cash helped them knock out Clockface.

He hit the net four times in a 7-2 win, while Anthony Davies, Dean Jennings and Adam McLoughlin got in on the act too.

Eagle Sports squeezed past Sankey Vale by the odd goal.

An exception to the weekend’s trend was Moore United’s exit at the hands of Warrington and District League Premier Division strugglers Halton Borough.

Sean Bennett was among the scorers as United assembled a 2-0 lead at the break, but Borough bounced back to win 3-2..

Rylands progressed to the last eight after a dominant 7-0 victory against The Village.

And they did so with emergency cover between the sticks, Ben Latham stepping in as goalkeeper at the last minute.

Mark Keddie notched after capitalising on a rebound from a corner, before having two further goals disallowed.

Jordan Rigby then netted a 35-yard drive on the stroke of half time.

Keddie got his second from close range before James Sinker headed home his first goal of the season from another corner.

Skipper Kris Bell netted twice before Rigby slotted home his 13th goal of the campaign shortly before the full-time whistle.

Rylands manager Darren Davies said: “We played some really good football, playing with attacking intent at a good tempo, looking like a very exciting team going forward throughout.

“We’ve played well for a few weeks now without much reward so it’s great that everything came together resulting in a dominant victory.”
