GREENALLS Padgate St Oswalds got their season up and running with a pair of away victories.

Goals from Ben Slater and Daniel Toone helped them to a 2-1 win at Malpas on Saturday, while Slater hit a brace as they beat Garswood by the same score on Tuesday.

Conversely, Rylands were on the end of two home defeats as Knutsford came away with a 2-1 win on Saturday despite Jordan Rigby’s brilliant free-kick, while goals from Kristian Bell and James Daniels could not prevent a 5-2 loss to Linotype Cheadle on Tuesday.

Eagle Sports’ tough start to the season continues as a 5-0 defeat to Congleton Vale and a 3-1 home reverse against Altrincham Reserves made it three league defeats out of three.

In League One, Grappenhall Sports conceded seven goals for the second game running in a 7-2 home loss to Cheadle Town Reserves, while Warrington Town Reserves earned local bragging rights with a 4-2 win at Daten on Tuesday.

Another derby in League Two saw Moore United take the spoils with a 4-2 home win over Orford thanks to goals from Luke Pollock, Sam Chaddock, Matty Arnold and Phil Gahgan.

Reserves League One got underway on Saturday, with Daten Reserves drawing 2-2 with Poynton while Greenalls PSO Reserves were 4-0 winners over Styal and Eagle Sports were beaten 2-1 at Denton Town.
