EAGLE Sports arrested a run of defeats with a 2-1 win at home to Crewe in the Cheshire Football League Premier Division on Saturday.

Lee Vaughan netted twice as Greenalls Padgate St Oswalds defeated Congleton Vale 2-1 in midweek.

Vale bounced back by beating Rylands 3-0 on Saturday.

Grappenhall Sports sit two points above the League One drop zone with two games in hand over the teams around them after a 1-1 draw with title contenders Wythenshawe Town. Ross Dryden came off the bench to score for Grappenhall.

In the JA Walton Challenge Cup, Warrington Town Reserves came back from 2-0 down to draw 3-3 against Halebank, only to lose 7-6 on penalties.

Town sit second in Division Two after goals from Bowers, three, Parker, Collins and Cooper helped them to a 6-0 home win over Cuddington.
