BEN Wharton has been released from Warrington Town.
The forward was one of the heroes of the club’s giant-killing FA Cup run last season, but has seen opportunities limited since the return of top goalscorer Ciaran Kilheeney and strike partner Ben Deegan.
“It has been announced that Ben Wharton has been released from the club,” said Warrington Town Supporters’ Club.
“Ben has been with us for two and half years and has helped us to create the most successful seasons in the club’s history.
“We would like to wish Ben the very best of luck in the future.”
Wharton will link up with higher-ranked Ashton United.
