WARRINGTON and District League side Croft are through to the quarter finals of the Lancashire FA Amateur Cup.

Two goals apiece from Alex Cooke and Michael Stuart, plus a fine solo effort by Callum Douglas, steered the Premier Division men past Bolton outfit Thornleigh 5-2.

Croft will be the league’s only representatives in the last eight on Saturday, November 21, when they host Lancaster’s Caton United.

In league games, Simon Cade netted twice – one of which was a rocket shot – in Burtonwood Albion’s 5-2 success against Knowsley South.

Albion, three points adrift of the Premier Division’s top two Vulcan and St Michaels DH but with games in hand, also found the target through a Stephen Murphy overhead kick, Josh Dixon and Alex Brisco.

In Division One, Grange Sports won 6-3 at Pex Hill and moved into second spot.

Grange led 4-1 early in the second half with goals from Nathan O’Gorman, Ryan Wilde and the first of Scott Robinson’s four.

Pex Hill struggled through injuries but turned the game on its head with two goals in a minute before Robinson settled matters.

Lomax got their Division Four title challenge back on track with a hard-fought 3-2 victory against Eagle JFC at Victoria Park.

Eagle had the better of the first half and led 2-0 but Lomax fought back with goals from Danny Hoyland, two, and Adam Bugan.

Danny Roberts opened the scoring with an overhead kick for Burtonwood Albion Reserves in a 4-3 success against Orford’s third string.

Roberts and Lewis Legge notched before Orford clawed back level.

Burtonwood’s winner came through sub Chris O’Neill.

Grange Sports Reserves maintained second place in Division Four with a 3-2 victory at Vulcan Reserves.

In a physical game Grange were 2-0 down at the interval but fought back to win 3-2 with goals from David Fleming and Michael Wharton, two.

Crosfields FC climbed two places to eighth when Alex Astbury, Craig Mather and Anthony Woodcock each bagged a hat-trick in a 10-2 demolition of Woolston Rovers Reserves in Division Five.
