BURTONWOOD Albion opened their Warrington and District League Premier Division season with a hammering of Moorfield despite having their goalkeeper sent off.

Soon after Alex Brisco put them ahead Albion were a man down with the lead wiped out from the penalty spot.

Burtonwood continued to dominate but there other five strikes all came in the second half, with Brisco completing a hat-trick, Craig Spurling getting in on the act and Ben Brown adding a brace - his first being a 35-yard rocket into the top corner.

Rainhill Town 3rd 3 Sankey Vale 3

SANKEY Vale gave away a two-goal lead in a draw at Rainhill Town in Division One.

Two strikes from Stu McDonald, one of them a penalty, and a converted Lee Potter free kick put Vale 3-1 in front but Rainhill netted twice in the last 10 minutes.

Sutton Heath 2 Grange Sports 1

GRANGE Sports paid the price for not taking their chances at Division One newcomers Sutton Heath.

Pressure eventually brought an equaliser from Kevin Ferrigan midway through the second half but Grange failed to deal with a long throw-in late on as they fell to a first defeat of the season.

Mattiola 2 Grange Sports Reserves 1

TWO mistakes cost Grange Sports dearly as Mattiola cashed in with Nick Monaghan goals on both occasions in Division Four.

Grange pulled a goal back from Samuel McCauley in the second half before the dismissal of Bryan Hill for a second yellow card hindered their chances of squaring the game.

Eagle JFC 4 West Bank Main Top 1

EAGLE grew in strength and took a lead through goals from captain Scott James and Alex McGann in Division Four.

Although the lead was cut in half, two substitutions by Eagle restored their control and a goal from hard-working Matty Colley restored the cushion.

A superb cross from Jono Oakes was volleyed in by Sam Davies to wrap it all up.

Orford 3rd 5 Halton Borough 1

ORFORD opened their Division Four account with a hard-fought victory.

Halton hit the bar twice before four-goal hero Liam McLoughlin beat four men and struck a 20-yard blast into the roof of the net.

A post came to Orford's rescue before McLoughlin cut in from the left to score from 18 yards, with his third coming soon after.

Keeper Lonsdale punched away a thunderous Halton effort and defender Bacon had one effort cleared off the line.

White got on the score sheet on his competitive debut for the club and McLoughlin rounded off the game by netting his fourth.

Crosfields 2 Cronton Villa Reserves 3

KARL Mather and Alex Astbury scored Crosfields' goals but Cronton Villa delivered a 93rd-minute winner through their hat-trick man Liam Brophy.
