SEVEN-year-old Gabriel Hubball fought on to net his 100th goal of the season and help Eagle JFC lift some silverware on Saturday.
The St Joseph’s pupil ended the league season with 93 goals in 25 games, but scored four en route to a cup final to leave him needing a hat-trick in a showpiece against Lymm.
Battling abdominal pains, he scored all three in a 3-0 win to the delight of a large crowd at the Earlestown Junior Tournament.
“It was absolutely amazing,” said grandad Ken. “I had tears in my eyes and so did his mum.”
“He had a bad tummy, but we just wanted to keep him on the pitch as we didn’t have any subs,” said mum Catherine.
“They did so well, drawing one game and not conceding a goal.”
Gabriel’s performances this season have seen him picked up by Wigan Athletic after leaving Manchester United last year.
“He really enjoys training with Wigan,”added Catherine.
