NEW Rylands boss Danny Salt insists he has joined a club that is 'going places'.

Former Runcorn Town assistant Salt's appointment kick starts a mini managerial merry-go-round, with Grappenhall's Darren Davies arriving as his number two.

Grappers have promoted David Schofield to the manager's role.

Salt said:“As soon as the Rylands job became available I knew it was a job I would love to take.

"I spoke with the chairman and the club’s sponsor and the plans in place here are unbelievable, it’s a club going places.

"I’d like to thank Mark and the committee for giving me the opportunity to manage the first team and develop ‘the blues’ to be a force to be reckoned with in the Cheshire League.

"With the club set-up and the new management team around me I firmly believe that Darren and I can build on the success of last season’s Guardian Cup victory."

New chairman Mark Pye added: “After some very impressive applications I felt it was right to not only find a manager for the First Team, but to put together a management structure and build a coaching system that can stand the test of time as the club continues to grow.

"With the appointed team I believe we have the perfect combination of people who are keen to work together to build for the not only now, but also the future.

"I look forward to many successful years with Danny and the team and am delighted that they have accepted roles with Rylands FC.”

Schofield was Grappenhall reserves manager before Davies, Steve Davies and Billy Anderson left for Rylands.

“I’m delighted to be in charge of the first team for the upcoming season. It’s a great opportunity and a great challenge," he said.
