RYLANDS were beaten 2-0 by reigning champions Garswood United in the Cheshire League Premier Division on Saturday.
The visitors secured victory in injury time with a penalty kick after a headed goal from a free-kick put them in front in the first half.
Grappenhall Sports allowed Congleton Vale an easy path back to the top of the League One table with a 4-1 home defeat while Moore United shared the points with fellow League two strugglers Mersey Valley in a 3-3 draw.
Mersey Valley went 3-1 up after 51 minutes and shortly after the hour mark, a Holt free kick was nodded down by Kyle Gallagher for Willetts to poke home.
Moore were awarded a penalty with five minutes remaining when the ball was handled by a Mersey Valley defender.
Sean Willott smashed the ball against the post but the referee awarded a re-take due to encroachment and Farnadi made no mistake from the spot as he hit home to rescue a point for Moore.
In the Reserve Premier Division, Greenalls PSO beat Eagle Sports 1-0 through a goal from Daniel Wilcock.
Daten rescued a point in the last seconds of their JA Walton Cup tie with Tarporley.
Sean Bennett’s brace gave Daten a 2-0 lead at the break before three second-half goals for Tarporley looked to secure the win for the visitors. However, Daten grabbed an equaliser in the last minute to make it 3-3 at the final whistle.
A Jody Lewis penalty save for a Grappenhall side down to 10 men ensured a share of the spoils in last Wednesday’s JA Walton Challenge Cup Group Three game against Warrington Town Reserves. Sports led twice with goals in each half from Jordan Rigby.
