SINCE joining the club two months ago as a steward, Mark Stringfellow believes he may just be the Yellows' lucky charm.

After witnessing memorable FA Cup victories pitch-side against Colwyn Bay and North Ferriby United, before the fairytale victory over Exeter City, the 45-year-old is now gearing up to travel to Gateshead on Sunday.

In a season so far showered by FA Cup exploits, Shaun Reid's men were also honoured for their recent league form and crowned Evo-Stik First Division North's team of the month this week.

Now attention shifts to this weekend's second-round crunch clash in the north east, in a fixture which could prove to be the passage to pit Town against the might of English football if victory is sealed.

"When the names were coming out of the hat, I was hoping for a home tie, but our fans can make it feel like a home fixture and I think we can win," said Mark, aged 45.

"The cup run has done the club a world of good, if we do win will just be the best thing that could happen.

"You could say I am bringing the club luck as since I have been here since the run started, at least I hope I am."

As BT Sport prepare to showcase Town's fixture, after the club's giant-killing of Exeter was broadcast on BBC, Mark insists the club are certainly reaping their awards as a result of the national coverage.

"Since we have been on this run, people from all over the world have been asking for Warrington Town tops," said the Chapelford man.

"There has been orders from New Zealand and America - long may that continue."

Like Warrington Town, Mark also has many reasons to treasure the memories of recent months after playing in a England v Scotland supporters' match ahead of the historic fixture between the nations at Celtic Park last month.

Managed by former England boss Terry Venables, the avid football fan was thankful for the opportunity which he received after being crowned England's 'ultimate fan'.

The honour has given him the privilege of attending each of England's home fixtures - an experience he shared with daughter Emily at England's Euro 2016 qualifier against Slovenia, with the nine-year-old chosen as flag-bearer at the match.

"It was unbelievable to have played in the match and is great to be able to go to the games," added Mark.

"It was nice to go with Emily and in years to come she will be able to show her family her experiences."
