WITH the BBC in town for arguably Warrington Town’s biggest home match in their 65-year history, a Croft chef has saved the day by cooking up a hot pot lunch for the production crew.
Warrington Town’s Twitter account had asked if any local companies fancied dropping off food for the BBC team, and without delay, Wesley Logsdon, from the Horseshoe Inn, stepped in.
The head chef of the pub, on Smithy Lane, offered his services to the delight of the team and had the food dropped off earlier today.
“I cooked up some hot pot lunch for the team and have had a lot of thanks since which is nice,” said 34-year-old Wesley.
“The same procedure as always was used – we always make our own things here by using fresh ingredients.”
With just over 24 hours until the Yellows and Exeter City kick off in the FA Cup first round proper encounter at Cantilever Park, Wesley said he will be going to the match and is hopeful of a result.
“At the end of the day it is eleven versus eleven so anything can happen,” he said.
