RYLANDS progressed into the second round of the JB Parker League Cup on Saturday after a much-improved second half display against Poynton at Gorsey lane.
Poynton took the lead after 25 minutes, but Rylands grabbed an equaliser against the run of play before half time through Kris Bell.
The second period began with a more determined home side dominating possession and Nathan Clements put Rylands into the lead.
Before the visitors had chance to respond, Clements sent Bell through for an emphatic finish to record his 14th goal of the season in only 11 appearances, giving Rylands a commanding 3-1 lead.
