Eagle Sports 2 Rylands 2

EAGLE Sports’ 100 per cent record came to an end as local rivals Rylands were denied three points with after a late equaliser.

The visitors were quicker out of the blocks and began to get amongst the Eagle side early on.

This paid off when Dean Jennings gave the away side the lead early on after some poor defending from the league leaders.

Rylands continued to press the home side and they got further reward when Joel Brownhill headed home to double their lead.

The hosts then began to respond and were awarded a penalty, which Stuart Wellstead converted, to reduce the advantage.

Rylands did hit the woodwork through Kris Bell before the break, but the score was kept the same until the half time break.

Eagle manager Rob Hope made a couple of half time changes and this sparked some life into his side.

The second half was dominated by the home side, although Rylands did have their moments on the counter attack.

The scores were levelled with around 10 minutes to go when Ged McAllister headed home a cross, much to the delight of the majority of the Thornton Road crowd.
