Warrington District Football League

Division One

Grange 1 Lomax 0

GRANGE'S first team moved into the promotion dogfight with a hard-earned win over local rivals Lomax.

In an ill-tempered game Grange dominated from the start but could not break down a dogged defensive display by their opponents, with a number of excellent saves keeping the scores level at half time.

The second half saw Lomax in the early stages make some inroads and forcing a number of corners which came to nothing.

Grange finally took control with a very well taken goal from leading goal scorer Robinson.

Wes Dolphin was man-of-the-match.

Moore Utd Reserves 3 Newton Athletic 3

THE first 20 minutes was all Moore Utd and the work paid off when Mark Doyle tapped home on 25 minutes.

Moore continued to pile on the pressure and on 40 minutes Neil O’Dwyer slotted home a penalty.

Newton Athletic came into the game when they pulled back a goal on the hour and equalised with a penalty on 75 minutes.

Moore thought they had the winner in the 91st minute, only to be denied the three points when Newton grabbed a 96th minute equaliser to share the spoils.

Man-of-the-match Kyle Gallagher.

Division Four

Widnes Ball 3 Grange Reserves 2

GRANGE Reserves again gave a good account of themselves against top of the league Widnes Ball with a very strong second half performance which almost produced a shock result.

Widnes led 3-0 at the break but were pulled back by goals from leading goal scorer Craig Burton and Kevin Ferrigan.
