SHAUN Reid is warning title rivals to fear Warrington Town after they bounced back to the top of the league on Saturday.

With front-runners Curzon Ashton’s game postponed, victory against Salford City sent the Yellows two points clear at the top.

John Flanagan’s side have three games in hand on table-topping Town, but Reid insists he would rather have points on the board.

“Without doubt I’d rather have the points,” he said. “They (Curzon) seem to want to talk about us and they don’t think we are championship-winning material.

“I know we are. We have to play them twice and considering what happened at our place, when we were two up and it got called off, I think it should be them who fear us.

“They’ve got to go to Darlington and Ramsbottom, they have a lot of tough games and there’s not a lot of time to fit them in – so bring it on is what I say.

“We have what it takes to stay there. We have spent more time at the top than anyone else – we will be there.”

Reid’s side travel to Padiham on Saturday, where he expects to include Richard Wright and Josh Ollerenshaw – loan signings from Fleetwood.

“I’m going there to win,” he explained. “We are at our best when on the front foot so I won’t be resting any players.

“Wright settled in well against Salford. Second half he was great, he’ll be a great addition.

“He’s a young lad but he needs football matches and Graham Alexander (Fleetwood manager) knows how I play the game, so he’s quite happy he will learn from his time with us.

“The keeper has conceded two goals in about six or seven games, so we are looking strong.”
