FIFE Rangers have reached the semi finals of Warrington and District League’s Guardian Cup courtesy of a 3-1 victory over hosts Grappenhall Sports.
The home side started brightly and took the lead through Dan Sisson, before Dan Wilcox levelled for Fife to make it all square at the break.
Wilcox was in fine form, though, lobbing the Grappers keeper to hand his side the lead before completing an excellent hat-trick to wrap their progression into the final four.
Croft wasted no time in opening a two-goal lead in their 6-3 win against Lomax, with Robert Hunt, two, and Andrew Chadwick notching to open a 3-1 lead at the break.
Philip Gittins grabbed Croft's fourth goal, and Daniel Chadwick’s subsequent strike ensured that the game was beyond Lomax even after they dispatched the penalty that reduced their arrears to two.
The game was marred when a player from each team was sent off, but Hunt rounded off the game with a fine individual goal to record his fourth hat-trick of the season.
In Warrington and District League matches, Burtonwood’s first outing since mid-December saw them hit the ground running against Windmill FC, going 1-0 up inside 60 seconds and 2-0 after five minutes.
It was a sign of the rout to come, as despite a Windmill goal following a slip from Albion’s centre back, the hosts opened a 6-1 lead by half time and further dominance after the restart resulted in a one-sided 11-1 scoreline.
