MOORE United bounced back from three straight defeats with a late win at Penlake in the Cheshire League Division Two on Saturday.
Scott Taylor’s 93rd minute winner and Johnny Rudge’s double proved enough after Penlake gained a first-half lead.
Taylor floated a ball onto the head of Rudge for the seventh-minute opener.
Penlake levelled when a hopeful long ball squirmed through Dave Balmers’ hands, before taking the lead on 32 minutes.
Rudge’s hopeful ball found its way into the top right hand corner from 25 yards after 52 minutes to bring Moore level.
However, in the third minute of added time Nathan Clements rifled a shot against the post and Taylor was on hand to bag the winner.
“A game won through effort, determination and a little bit of luck,” said boss Gaz Smith.
“The lads had to dig deep and maintain a high level of concentration.
“I’m proud of their efforts and hope we can use this performance as a step in the right direction and install a bit of belief back in the squad ready for the next game away at Congleton Vale.”
