GREENALLS are pleased to go into the weekend on the back of a midweek Cheshire Football League 'derby' victory.
With both teams under new management, neither side knew what to expect of each other.
Greenalls were much quicker out of the blocks, and Jon Leatherbarrow set the away side on their way after Neil Sutch slid him through and he side footed home well.
In the 8th minute and almost a carbon copy of the first goal, Neil Sutch latched onto a through ball and prodded past Stewart in the Eagle goal to double the lead.
The rest of the first period was scrappy and both teams struggled to get any lengthy periods of possession with the slippy surface.
Eagle grew into the game but struggled to worry the Greenalls backline too much and Rob Evans at the heart of the defence was looking at ease, starting some good atacks from his own half.
Early in the second half Eagle got one back via a screamer of a free kick, from all of 25 yards out the ball was touched left and met superbly well to fizz past Trubshaw in the Greenalls goal.
Only two minutes after that goal Danny Wilcock raced clear on goal, got the better of the keeper in a 50/50, jumped up and tapped into an empty net.
With 22 minutes left came the final goal as Lee Deakin, with great footwork on the byline, beat his man, and chipped the ball over to Ben Mcwilliams who finished superbly on the half volley with his left foot.
McWilliams could have had another had Deakin returned the ball to him after a neat exchange but Deakin went alone and pushed his shot wide.
Greenalls: Jack Trubshaw, Martin Snagg, Rob Evans, Rob Clarke, Matty Gleave, Gary Fox, Tomo Lees, Glen Percival, Neil Sutch, Jonny Leatherbarrow, Wilcock. Subs: Lee Deakin, Ben McWilliams, Dean Worrall, Gordon McJannett.
