Rylands blame missed chances for loss

RYLANDS were left to rue missed chances after losing at Cheshire League champions Knutsford on Saturday.

Manager Dave Parr said his side were the better team against Reds, who ran out 3-1 winners thanks to goals from Liam Myers, John Pickford and a penalty from Dean Warburton. Scott Bakkor reduced the visitors’ arrears.

“We didn’t score when we were on top,” said Parr afterwards.

Eagle maintained their pursuit of the leaders with a 2-1 success at second-placed Whaley Bridge.

Adam Coleman and Ged McAllister netted in the second half, leaving them fifth with games in hand on higher-placed teams.

Greenalls slipped to a 3-1 defeat at home to Linotype, Lee Hughes netting for the hosts.

There was a first win for Grappenhall at home to Styal, but they adrift in the relegation zone.
