APPLETON Tigers kept alive their hopes of catching Cheshire Women's Cricket League Division One leaders Oakmere with a four-wicket win over Wistaton.
The Tigers remain fifth but will overtake the leaders should they win all of their three games in hand.
With many of their front-line bowlers missing, the hosts dug deep at Lyons Lane to dismiss their visitors for 110.
Captain Jess Lewis led from the front by taking 3-27, with Laura Jackson and Rhona Logie picking up two wickets each.
With the bat, opener Emma Barlow was the hero as she hit an unbeaten 67, with Chloe Page's well-crafted 20 adding support as Appleton won with eight overs to spare despite a flurry of late wickets.
The Tigers welcome Ashton-on-Mersey to Lyons Lane on Sunday.
