APPLETON Tigers beat the rain to secure a seven-wicket victory over Ashton on Mersey on Sunday.
Bowling first, Annie Rashid led the way with excellent figures of 4-9 and skipper Nat Long chipped in with 3-11.
Appleton bowled and fielded admirably to dismiss their visitors for just 86 to leave them a modest total to chase.
Laura Jackson set about making a mockery of the visiting bowlers with an excellent innings of 40, with Emma Barlow and Sylvia Christelow adding valuable support to help knock off the runs in just 22 overs.
