WARRINGTON survived a middle-order collapse to hang on for a draw at Davenham.

After losing the toss, the visitors started well with the ball and took two quick wickets before the home middle order redressed the balance.

Mark Greaves and Oli Gallagher added 64 and 60 respectively, while Australian all-rounder Huw Stone led the way for Warrington with figures of 3-68.

Brad McIntosh, Ashley Scholes and Rob Batey took a wicket each as Davenham posted an imposing total of 252-7 from their 50 overs.

The visitors made steady progress in reply through Malcolm Agar and Adam Green, but when the latter fell for 30 things started to fall apart.

Five wickets fell with no-one making double figures and when Agar eventually fell for 80, it looked like Warrington were heading for defeat but James Sharrock marshalled the tail with an unbeaten 23 to ensure they finished on 179-9.

The seconds faced their Davenham counterparts at home and the game finished in the same result, with the visitors making 221-7 despite figures of 4-43 from Yogis Shavas.

Brad Roden also took two wickets and also added 36 at the top of the Warrington batting order, with Shavas top scoring with 65 to make sure Warrington held out comfortably for a draw by finishing on 203-7.

The firsts welcome Bollington on Saturday, while the seconds travel to Stockport and the thirds host Winsford.
