Tigers celebrate crushing victory
APPLETON celebrated their biggest win of the campaign in the Cheshire Women’s League when they hammered depleted hosts Hawarden Park by 192 runs on Sunday.
Emma Barlow (46) and Sylvia Christelow (22) put on 68 runs for the second wicket before Sami Fowler (66) and Annie Rashid (23) added 78 for the sixth as they amassed 223-6.
Appleton’s attack then skittled the home team for 31, led by slow bowler Olivia Horsfield who took three wickets without conceding a run.
