WARRINGTON closed a gap to top spot after seeing off promotion rivals Mobberley in the Cheshire County League’s third tier.
Slow bowler Brad McIntosh’s five-wicket haul for the hosts at Walton Lea helped restrict their guests, grateful for Nathan Wood’s half-century, to 180 for 9.
Nathan Green took 2-57 at the top of the order.
Will Fleetwood, unbeaten on 62, played another pivotal innings in Warrington’s reply, including a 58-run partnership for the fifth wicket with James Rudd, 51.
Returning James Hughes, 24, then added 46 with Fleetwood as the hosts secured maximum points at 181 for 6.
They occupy second spot in Division Two, behind Bollington, with a distance of 11 points to make up.
Warrington visit in-form Northwich – who have risen to fifth – this weekend, when the season reaches halfway.
