SOME indisciplined bowling and poor fielding cost Grappenhall second XI dearly in a home loss to Tattenhall.

Albert Pennington, on his return from serious injury, scored 55 as the visitors were set 228 to win in the Cheshire County League Second XI First Division clash.

Tattenhall coasted home with four overs to spare for the loss of five wickets.

Grappers' seconds, the night before, chased down 145 to cruise past Nantwich and reach the last eight of the T20 Cup. Iain Wright was the star with 80.

Grappenhall's third XI were beaten at table toppers Didsbury, highlighting a contrast in experience levels in the Sunday Premier Division match.

A below-par 109 all out, with David Seed's 30 the only resistance, was knocked off by Didsbury with ease for the loss of only two wickets.
