WARRINGTON drew with Widnes in Cheshire County Division Two.

Widnes closed on 223 for 9 with Ashley Scholes taking 4 for 63, supported by Nathan Green, 2 for 62, James Rudd and Phil Whelan.

The Warrington openers made a good start with a partnership of 62 from Malcolm Agar, 43, and Tushar Mahabray, 19, but Widnes ripped through the home sides middle order to leave skipper Rich Heaney, 36no, to bat out a draw on 170 for 7.

The seconds also shared the spoils when they drew at Bowdon.

Warrington made the most of a short boundary to rattle up 228 for 7 as James Lewis, 87no, led the way.

Bowdon then fell two runs short of the total. Billy Gilbert, 2 for 48, was the pick of the bowlers.

The thirds lost by nine wickets to Didsbury, while Warrington fourths fell to a five-wicket loss to Urmston.

With what seemed a good batting line up opener Rob Dempster, 20, was the only batsman to offer any resistance as Warrington thirds were rolled over for 68.

There was no repeat of the first innings as Didsbury coasted home in 18 overs for the loss of one wicket to give them a nine-wicket victory.

Put in to bat on a windy day Warrington fourths could never master the home side's attack and with 13-year-old Finn Webster, 14, being the only bat to reach double figures Warrington were all out for 57.

Having Urmston on 27 for 5 with Jack Street 2 for 18, Austin Carr 1 for 12 and Tom Fagan-Hall 1 for 13, Warrinton seemed to be back in the game but their late order batsmen hit out to steer them home for a six wicket win.
