WARRINGTON won by seven wickets at Irby on Saturday to go second in the Cheshire Country Cricket League Division Two.

Ashley Scholes, 3 for 34, made an early break with the introduction of spin bowling from Brad McIntosh, 5 for 56, for 18 overs having the visitors all out for 183.

With the loss of an early wicket from a run out, Mal Agar, 99, just missed out on a century. Along with Adam Green, 65, caught at mid wicket, the pair posted a stand of 146 as Warrington coasted home with eight overs to spare.

Warrington seconds drew with their Tattenhall counterparts.

Tattenhall’s batsmen dominated the innings as they made 243 for 5.

Nick Houghton, 2 for 31, and Brad Roden, 2 for 33, were Warrington's most successful bowlers.

With Warrington in trouble at 71 for 8, Roden, 54 not out, and Billy Gilbert, unbeaten on 60, posted an unbroken stand of 135 for a draw.

The thirds ground out a draw despite finishing 132 runs short of Upton.

Wes Charlton, 4 for 56, and Rob Dempster, 3 for 26, were the pick of the Warrington bowlers.

Warrington fourths beat Irby by 89 runs with solid knocks of 58 unbeaten from Mans Naseem, Alex Green, 54, and Dave Lee, 33.

Lee, 5 for 16, and 13-year-old Jack Street, 2 for 34, saw them home.
