GLAZEBURY secured their place in next season’s Cheshire Cricket Alliance Division One on Saturday,with a victory at Ellesmere Port ending any fears of relegation.
Chris Lord, 37, and Tom Wilkinson, 31, put in valuable performances with the bat on a difficult pitch, before Glazebury were dismissed for 128.
Port reached 20-0 in chase of the target and looked to be settling in well until the Sam Stanier, 4 for 29, Dave Acton, 3 for 26, and Tom Wilkinson, 2 for 21, took two wickets to bowl Ellesmere Port out for 102 and give Glazebury a 26-run victory.
Glazebury seconds were forced to settle for a draw against Rylands in Division Four after they declared on 195 for 6.
Ryalnds reached 36 for 2 before rain stopped play.
