RYLANDS’ record opening partnership helped crush Offerton with a 137-run victory in the Cheshire Cricket Alliance Division Two on Saturday.

The relegation battlers piled on the runs with an opening partnership of 216 shared between Alan Brady, 127, and veteran Richard Buck, 85.

Cameos from Mason, Moors and Howarth enabled Rylands to declare on 275 for the loss of four wickets.

Offerton got off to a reasonable start in reply with 10 wickets still left after 20 overs.

However some fine swing bowling from skipper Matt Brady, 2 for 16, combined with Adam Peters, 3 for 23, and Buck, 4 for 15, bowled the away team out for 138.
