GLAZEBURY’S recent good form was interrupted on Saturday as they suffered defeat at high-flying Port Sunlight in the Cheshire Cricket Alliance Division One.

Chris Ayre took two wickets for Galzebury but a staggering display from Port Sunlight’s Grayson McMullen frustrated the bowling attack as he hit 98 from just 47 balls before the home side declared on 245 for 6.

Wayne Hargreaves, 34, showed some resistance with the bat, with Chris Lord, 22, and Hakeem Dahou, 20, also chipping in, but the Warrington side were eventually dismissed for 141.

Glazebury seconds beat third-place Knutsford in Division Four having bowled them out for just 107.

Sam Stanier, 3 for 21, and Bruce Jardine, 3 for 20, did most of the damage with the ball.

Glazebury slipped to 7 for 2 early on but good performances from Ian Black, 36, and Tom Wilkinson, 38 not out, saw the home side reach 113 for 3 in the 19th over.
