RYLANDS’ weekend was sweet and sour.

They defeated Frodsham in Cheshire Cricket Alliance Division Two at Gorsey Lane on Saturday but missed out on progressing to a semi final the next day.

Good bowling performances from Matt Brady, 2 for 9, and Sujih, 3 for 30, limited Frodsham to 126 from their 45 overs before Eddie Platt’s 58 not out helped surpass the total with 12 overs and seven wickets to spare.

Rylands were then beaten in the quarter finals of the Cheshire Alliance Twenty20 Cup by Port Sunlight, despite Gary Moors’ unbeaten 71.

Rylands were chasing 226 but managed 170 from their 20 overs.

STRETTON seconds extended their winning run to three games with a last-ball four at Rostherne.

A four-wicket haul for Graham Stone and three wickets from youngster William Metcalfe restricted Rostherne to 141 for 9.

Stretton won with the last batsman at the crease, Brihant Sharma the man scoring four off the final ball.
