BREDBURY were put in to bat and were soon in trouble from all parts of the Warrington attack in the Cheshire Shield.

The wickets were shared as Chai Gaddippalli, 3 for 12, Kyle Adams, 3 for 13, Brad McIntosh, 2 for 9, and Sam Pennington, 2 for 22, showed relentless accuracy to dismiss the visitors for 98.

Chris Kirby, 46, backed up by Ashley Scholes, 23no, and Sam Houghton, 18, saw Warrington sail home with a five-wicket victory.

After the loss of an early wicket Kirby, 48, and James Rudd, 32, repaired the damage with a second wicket stand of 57 in the Cheshire County League Division Two fixture on Saturday.

A fifth wicket of 55 from Andy Kirby, 39, and Liam Heaphy, 49, followed as Warrington closed their innings 193 for 6 Tattenhall could not master the home attack, led by Adams, 4 for 40, supported by one each for Scholes and Ryan Swart 1-22 as the match petered out to a draw.

Warrington second team beat Tattenhall by four wickets in the Cheshire County League Second XI Division Two.

Brendan Morris, 2 for 35, and Rishav Manta, 2 for 25, were the pick of the bowlers, while Sy Hewitt with 1 for 28 chipped in.

Openers Charlie McElroy, 38, and Tushar Mahambrey, 30, laid the foundation for James Lewis, 22no, and Aaron Chaderton, 18no, to steer Warrington over the line.
