RYLANDS’ chances of a victory at home to Cheshire Alliance Division One’s promotion-seekers Wistaston were ended by the weather.
The visitors batted first on a damp wicket and Rylands’ bowlers did well to restrict them to 145 for 9, Richard Buck picking up four wickets and Alan Brady three.
Rainfall forced an early tea and a declaration from Wistaston, but the Warrington outfit’s hopes were dashed later by a further downpour.
Rylands seconds travelled to Ellesmere Port in Division Four, and were soon put to the sword as the hosts amassed 208 for 2.
The away team’s reply was cut short by by a downpour as they struggled to 92 for 7 with Andy Mansfield, 29, Joe Threadgold, 24, and Sujith Nair, 22, their leading run-scorers.
